CompRex, LLC is one of 13 finalists in the Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest for their Innovative dairy wastewater treatment and PFAS removal business plan. CompRex has developed a patent pending diffusion bonded reactor and process that uses supercritical water oxidation to remove over 99% of PFAS in water and wastewater and over 90% on all other contaminants in any wastewater. Removal of PFAS is a growing need as the EPA is considering new regulations for PFAS as many cities such as La Crosse, Wausau, Madison have reported high levels of PFAS. The dairy industry, which their wastewater contains high level of BOD, can not only benefit from the removal of PFAS with CompRex’s system but the treatment process does not use costly chemicals. CompRex’s system can become the one single process suitable for any wastewater stream, the energy put into the system to treat the water can be recovered and used in other areas of a dairy plant reducing the overall energy cost of a plant.

Finalists of the Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest were narrowed down to 13 from about 200 entries. The contest has been going on four-months with multiple stages. CompRex is looking forward to present their business plan to the many judges and investors at the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference June 1.
